From the moment sweet Caraline was placed in my arms, I knew she was something special. Caraline's mom contacted me a few weeks before her due date to book one of my model calls. We set a tentative date for her session and mom notified me once they were back at home and settled in. We set their session date for when Caraline would be 7 days new. I packed up all the beautiful girly drops I hadn't had the opportunity to use yet, and headed out that Monday morning ready to work.
As I said, after I had set up everything I needed for our session and gotten Caraline in my arms, I knew she was going to be amazing! She woke up for a little while, but never fussed or complained. We started out with some simple poses and set-ups, and she blew me away with how perfect and still she was.

Here's one of our first set-ups. She was awake, but completely content. Such a sweet girl!!!
After a few minutes, Caraline started to drift off more and more until she was fast asleep. For the remainder of the session, she never made a peep! She did still have her favorite setups though, and she loved my little pink teddy bear and bunny. Every time I would try to take it from her to change the set-up, she would tighten her grip and hold on tight! For that reason, we have a lot more photos with lovies than I usually take. It was perfect though, because this sweet girl had more than enough facial expressions to make each and every photo unique.
At the end of our session, Caraline's big sister got into some photos with her, and they were perfection! Big sister seemed a little unsure at first, but she did such an amazing job. She had the most beautiful curls I have ever seen, and the sweetest smile ever!

I wonder if Caraline will have curly hair like big sister?!
I met with Caraline and her sweet mommy this morning to deliver their gallery, and her mom had just as much trouble as I did narrowing down her favorite images. Caraline is going to be full of personality when she gets a little bigger. For now, she seems content showing everyone how she feels through her many adorable expressions. FYI, I got to hold sweet Caraline today for a few minutes while mom finished choosing her images, and she has already grown so much! Here are a few photos from our session. This is definitely one of my favorites sessions ever!
I love this work I do. I love taking photos of these tiny little humans for their parents to cherish and use to remember every tiny little detail. Children grow so quickly. You blink and they are 3, then 5, then 10, and the next thing you know they're all grown up. My youngest daughter is only 2, and I have already forgotten so many of those sweet newborn details about her.
Don't take your memories for granted. You and your family deserve to have professional images to look back on in the future. I'm so glad Caraline and her family will have these images to look back on together.
